YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) —
Eastern Michigan University Head Men's Basketball Coach Stan Heath, along with the EMU Department of Athletics, have released the team's 2022-23 schedule today, Aug. 24. The Eagles are set for a 31-game regular season that gets underway Nov. 7 and will feature 13 non-conference games, including a showdown with the University of Michigan in Detroit and a trip to the Cancun Challenge, before playing an 18-game Mid-American Conference slate.

Season tickets are currently on sale through the EMU website (EMUEagles.com/tickets), by calling 734.487.3669, or by visiting the EMU Ticket Office inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center. Season tickets start as low as $120 and includes all men's and women's home games in 2022-23. Fans are encouraged to purchase their season tickets now as limited availability for reserved seating remains while premium seating has already sold out. Former EMU letterwinners can join in by purchasing an E-Club package. The package, which cost $150, grants holders access to all home football, men's basketball and women's basketball games this year.

The season, and Heath's second campaign in charge at his alma mater, opens Nov. 7 with a men's/women's doubleheader - the first of five on the year - as the Eagles men welcome Wayne State University to the George Gervin GameAbove Center while the women will battle Lindenwood University. From there, Eastern will begin a stretch of five games away from home, starting with a Nov. 11 showdown against Michigan at Little Caesars Arena. The Eagles road trip continues Nov. 15 in Peoria, Ill., as Eastern faces Bradley University in the opener of the 2022 Cancun Challenge. Back closer to home, the Eagles will face another local foe as they head to Rochester to face Oakland University on Nov. 19.

Eastern's longest road trip of the season follows two days later as it takes part in the Cancun Challenge inside the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Cancun, Mexico. The Eagles will open play in the Mayan Division Nov. 22 at 12:30 p.m. ET against Purdue University Fort Wayne. The final game comes Nov. 23 with the Eagles playing in either the Mayan Championship game at 3 p.m. ET or the Mayan Third Place game at 12:30 p.m. ET against either the University of Southern Mississippi or Winthrop University. Each of the games will be aired live on FloHoops.com.

Back in the States, the Eagles return home Nov. 27 to face the University of California San Diego before heading to Miami, Fla., for a Nov. 30 game at Florida International University. Dec. 4 will see the Eagles back home once again as Florida Atlantic University comes to town while the women take on the University of North Dakota the same day. The Eagles hit the road for a pair of games as they visit Illinois State University (Dec. 7) before traveling to Niagara University (Dec. 11). The final two non-conference games will close out the month as Eastern welcomes the University of Detroit Mercy on Dec. 18 before heading south for a game at the University of South Carolina on Dec. 30.

With the change of the year comes a change in the schedule as Eastern jumps into MAC play Jan. 3 with Bowling Green State University coming to town. The two game home stand finishes with a visit from rival Central Michigan University Jan. 7. The first MAC road contests await Eastern from there as trips to both Western Michigan University (Jan. 10) and the University of Akron (Jan. 14) await.

The Eagles will then play host to a pair of MAC foes as Kent State University visits campus Jan. 17 before both the EMU men and women play host to Northern Illinois University in a doubleheader Jan. 21.

The toughest part of the league schedule comes next as Eastern will play four of its next five MAC games on the road. The slate opens Jan. 24 at the University of Toledo before the Eagles head to Miami University Jan. 28. After a home contest with Ohio University on Jan. 31, Eastern returns to the road to face Ball State University (Feb. 4) and the University at Buffalo (Feb. 7).

With a tough road stretch behind them, the Eagles will next see four of their next five games played inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center. The home stand opens with a doubleheader on Feb. 11 with the men playing host to the Rockets and the women welcoming WMU. After a road game at KSU Feb. 18, the Eagles return to Ypsilanti for their final two home contests of the year. First, Eastern will take on WMU Feb. 21 before closing out the home slate Feb. 25 with another doubleheader, this time with the women taking on KSU and the men facing the Cardinals.

The regular season comes to a close with two final road games, first with Eastern taking on the Falcons in Bowling Green, Ohio, Feb. 28, before meeting with the Huskies in DeKalb, Ill., March 3.

The 2023 MAC Tournament returns to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio, with the three-day event leading off March 9 with the quarterfinals all broadcast on ESPN+. The semifinals will be played Mar. 10 and aired on CBS Sports with the championship game taking place March 11 live on ESPN2.

The NCAA Selection Show airs March 12 with the national tournament opening March 14-15 in Dayton, Ohio, with the First Four while the NCAA First and Second Round games running March 16-19. The NCAA Regionals (Sweet 16 and Elite 8) are set for March 23-26 with the NCAA Final Four April 1-3.

The conference office will release a full basketball television schedule in October. All dates are subject to change.
