EMU Rowing Announces Three Summer Camp Offerings

High school rowers of all experiences levels will have the chance to learn from EMU's coaching staff

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University rowing team and Head Coach Kemp Savage are excited to announce a trio of summer camp offerings that the program will host in the coming months. 

The first of two "Learn to Row" camps will be held Sunday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the EMU Boathouse. The camp is open to current high school students entering either their junior or senior year with no prior rowing experience. Athletes will be taught by, and get to know, the Eastern Michigan Rowing coaching staff. The first half of their day will focus on learning how to row, first on a rowing machine. The second half of the day will be spent on Ford Lake learning how to row on the water. The registration fee is $100 and will include lunch.

A second "Learn to Row" camp will be held Thursday, August 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will follow the same format as the aforementioned camp. Registration will be $100 and will include lunch.

Eastern's third camp offering of the summer will gear towards high school rowers entering their junior or senior year who are seeking to refine their skills ahead of the academic year. The camp, set for Saturday, Aug. 20, will include three on-water sessions, video review, and lunch. Camp registration is $100.
