– The Eastern Michigan University track & field program will see 12 competitors display their skills at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships, Wednesday-Saturday, May 25-28. The regional meet is set to take place on the campus of the Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.

"We're excited to head to Bloomington with a great group of athletes representing all of the event areas," said Director/Head Coach Sue Parks. "We're looking forward to seeing our athletes compete against the best and strive to make it to the finals in Eugene."

Two distance runners will represent EMU at the regional meet in senior Solomon Costa (Gahanna, Ohio-Gahanna Lincoln) and junior Baldvin Magnusson (Akureyri, Iceland-Hull University). Costa is set for the 3000m steeplechase, while Magnusson will tackle the 5000m race.
