BOSTON, Mass. (EMUEagles.com) – After hosting two regattas last weekend, the Eastern Michigan University rowing team will head to Boston to race against Boston College and Boston University Saturday, April 9. Action on the Charles River is set for 7:30 a.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+.

"We are looking forward to this weekend to get the chance to see another 'Power Five' school as well as one of the top teams in our region," said Head Coach Kemp Savage. "It will be a good chance to see what we got accomplished during our short training week this week."

Most recently, the Eagles hosted Michigan State University and Duquesne University on Ford Lake, April 2-3. EMU's 1V8 boat took second in its race against the Spartans, finishing in 7:26.4. The following day, the same crew topped the Dukes with a time of 7:04.88, winning by 22.20 seconds.

Eastern's 2V8+ also had a solid weekend, falling to MSU by .04 seconds in the 2,000-meter race. On Sunday, the 2V8 boat clocked in at 7:23.52 to top the Dukes.

Boston University is coming off a successful weekend as the Terriers swept the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on the Charles River, April 2. Meanwhile, Boston College competed in a double dual against North Carolina and Bucknell University, earning five total wins on the Susquehanna River, April 2.

Following the Eagles' trek to Beantown, rowing will head to Shamokin Dam, Pa. to battle host Bucknell, UConn, and Villanova on the Susquehanna River, April 16. From there, EMU will have one more regatta to prepare for the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, May 15.
