Ty Celone Named MAC Golfer of the Week

The Long Sault, Ontario, Canada native collected the MAC weekly honor for the third time

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University senior Ty Celone (Long Sault, Ontario, Canada-St Joseph's Catholic) was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for the third time in his career today, April 1. The honor comes after a strong showing at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate, March 27-29.

Celone finished in a tie for fourth with a season-best 211 (72-67-72). The Long Sault, Ontario native's finish marked the fourth top-five showing of his career and the first of the season.

The Eagles shot rounds of 289, 291, and 292 for a total of 872 in a three-way tie for seventh. EMU was two shots behind Rice (870) and 10 in front of Illinois State (882).

Celone and crew return to the fairways April 9-10 at the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.
