Anna Watson Named MAC Golfer of the Week

The Ashland, Ohio native collected the MAC weekly honor for the first time
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University sophomore Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for the first time in her career today, March 10. The honor comes after a strong showing at the Don Benbow Invitational Tuesday, March 7-8.
Watson fired a 75 in the final round to claim runner-up honors with a four-over 146 (71-75). A day after she tied her career best with a round of 71, Watson finished with a personal-best two round tally and the sixth-lowest 36-hole mark in program history.
Eastern Michigan was unable to hold on to the team lead on the final day, as Butler surged to the top of the standings with a final round 298. The Green and White's cumulative score of 612 is the 15th-best two round score in school-history.
Eastern Michigan returns to the course March 28-29 at the Georgia State Invitational in Stockbridge, Ga.
