Swim & Dive Continues to Improve at MAC Championships

The Eagles will head into the final day of competition Saturday, Feb. 26, in fourth place
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving program completed day three at the Mid-American Conference Championships and currently sit in fourth place with 221 points.
How It Happened
The Eagles collected a medal in senior Riley Hofmann (Ada, Mich.-Forest Hills Central), who placed third in the 400-yard individual medley with a personal-best time of 4:16.76. That mark also places her third all-time in program history in the 400 IM. Freshman Abby Szadorski (Oswego, Ill.-Oswego East) placed eighth in the same event with a time of 4:24.86.
In the 100-yard backstroke, sophomore Lainie Bell (Atlanta, Ga.-Druid Hills (Northern Arizona)) finished with a time of 54.65. That mark places Bell fifth in program history in the 100 back. Senior Ali Staver (Bettendorf, Iowa-Pleasant Valley) also entered the program record book in the same event, recording a time of 55.12, which places the senior captain 10th all-time in program history.
In the 3-meter dive preliminaries, senior Bethany Berger (Batavia, Ohio-Glen Este) finished first with a score of 326.15. That total is good for 10th all-time in the program's history.

Eastern will conclude the MAC Championships tomorrow, Feb. 26, with preliminaries beginning at 10:30 a.m. inside Cooper Pool.
