YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving program will begin its home slate with a dual meet against Oakland University Saturday, Nov. 12. The meet will be held inside Saline High School with the first event scheduled for 1 p.m. As for the divers, they will travel to Oakland to compete at 1 p.m. as well.

The Eagles enter the contest with an overall record of 1-2 and a Mid-American Conference mark of 1-1. Eastern prevailed in its lone dual meet this season, defeating the University of Toledo 165-134, Oct. 28. The victory was EMU's fifth-straight season-opening dual meet victory since the 2017-18 season.

LAST TIME OUT: EMU dropped its tri-meet against the No. 14-ranked University of Michigan and Ohio University Friday afternoon, Nov. 4. Eastern fell to UM, 227-70, and dropped its matchup with the Bobcats, 166-133. Senior swimmer Sav Mouat earned Eastern's lone victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle, earning a time of 10:21.04. EMU earned second-place finishes from Camryn Hughes (1-meter dive - 270.95), Katie Shoen (50 free - 23.58), and Alexandra Kudo (500 free - 5:00.18).
    With her second-place score in the 1-meter dive, Hughes has qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships, March 9-11, for the second consecutive season.

SCOUTING OAKLAND: The Golden Grizzlies defeated Wayne State University, Sept. 9, and the University of Toledo, Oct. 14. OU has dropped meets to Miami University, Sept. 30, and Michigan, Oct. 8. In the program's most recent dual meet, the Golden Grizzlies defeated Toledo, 180-120.
    In their most recent showing, Oakland took first place (1,471.5 points) in the Atlantic 10 Invitational, Oct 30. Prior to the meeting in Saline, the Golden Grizzlies will compete against Grand Valley State University Friday, Nov. 11.

ON THE HORIZON: The Eagles will have a two-and-a-half-week break from competition before competing in the Denison Invitational, Dec. 1-3, in Granville, Ohio.
