Knue Earns MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week Honors

The junior wide receiver has scored in a career-best three consecutive games
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University football junior wide receiver Tanner Knue (Mason, Ohio-Mason) has been named the Mid-American Conference's Male Scholar Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today, Nov. 30. The recognition comes on the same day that Knue earned Third Team All-MAC status for the first time in his career.
Knue was exceptional in EMU's thrilling, 38-19 defeat of Central Michigan University, Nov. 25. The Mason, Ohio native opened up scoring for the Eagles with 10:12 remaining in the first quarter. The touchdown, his ninth of the season, marked his third-consecutive game with a TD, the first such stretch of his career. He sits in third place tie in the MAC for receiving touchdowns in 2022. Knue's touchdown capped off EMU's longest scoring drive by yardage of the 2022 season. The 10-play, 90-yard drive knocked 4:42 off the clock for the Eagles and put the team ahead of CMU 7-0 early on. It was the longest scoring drive for Eastern Michigan since it went 96 yards in seven plays against Ohio University, Nov. 9, 2021.
EMU finished with an 8-4 overall record, including a 5-3 record in MAC play during the 2022 regular season. The eight wins are the most for the program since the 1987 season. Additionally, with its 5-3 conference record, the team secured its first ever co-MAC West Division title. The Eagles also recaptured the Michigan MAC Trophy for the first time since 2012 following impressive defeats of both their in-state rivals, Central Michigan University and Western Michigan University.
