(EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team, under the guidance of seventh-year Head Coach Fred Castro, is set to face Northwood University in an exhibition game Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center. The game is free of charge for all fans who would like a first-hand look at the 2022-23 women's team.

LID-LIFTER
Wednesday's exhibition versus the Timberwolves will be the final tune-up for the Eagles before their season lid lifter against Lindenwood University, Nov. 7. Recently, the coaches of the Mid-American Conference voted on the projected order of finish in the conference standings with the Eagles earning 46 points to sit ninth on the list with the University of Toledo(143), Ball State University (130) and Bowling Green State University (109) selected to make up the top three. Additionally, the coaches predicted the MAC Tournament Champion with Toledo collecting 11 first-place votes, while Ball State registered the last one.

RETURNING POWER
Eight members on the 2022-23 roster return to the team from last year highlighted by junior Ce'Nara Skanes (Oklahoma City, Okla. - Putnam City West). In the 2021-22 campaign, Skanes earned the title of all-time double-doubles leader. She enters the 2022-23 campaign with 23. She recorded 11 in the 2021-22 season and the other 12 the year before. The Oklahoma native averaged 12.8 points per contest and a 9.2 rebounding average per game in her most recent season. Additionally, the junior collected 22 steals and 30 blocks for the Green and White.

Also returning to the 2022-23 team is senior Natalia Pineda (Miami, Fla.-John A. Ferguson), sophomore Zaniya Nelson (Oklahoma City, Okla.-Putnam City West), sophomore Lachelle Austin (Redford, Mich.-Wayne Memorial), sophomore Kyndal Lewis (Belton, Mo.-Belton High), and sophomore Treasure Thompson (Joilet Ill.-Bolingbrook-Louisiana State). Additionally, redshirts Irekpitan Ozzy-Momodu (London, England-City of London Academy-Robert Morris) and Madisyn Tillman (Kentwood, Mich.-East Kentwood) will be returning to the team and looking to make their debuts as Eagles.

NEW ADDITIONS
Four "true" freshmen joined the roster this year including Olivia Smith (Fort Wayne, Ind. - South Side), Dara Capaldi (East Detroit, Mich. - La Lumiere), Elena Cabello (Malaga, Spain - IES Meditterraneo), and Sophia Nittinger (Webster Groves, Mo. - Webster Groves). Along with the four rookies, the Eagles have also welcomed two transfers in junior Ashley Hassett (Hershey, Neb. - Hershey High - Northeast CC), and sophomore Tayra Eke (Madrid, Spain - IES Ortega Y Gasset - Long Island University).

SCOUTING NORTHWOOD
The Timberwolves, who sported an 18-10 overall record during the 2021-22 season, will also tip off their season Wednesday, Nov. 2.
