TARRYTOWN, N.Y. (EMUEagles.com) – Former Eastern Michigan University men's basketball standout Raven Lee was acquired by the Westchester Knicks of the National Basketball Association's G League from the Available Player Pool Sunday, Jan. 2. The guard joins former teammate Tim Bond in the league, who was recently drafted by the Windy City Bulls.
Lee was most recently playing for Tskhum-Abkhazeti of Super Liga, where he averaged 4.5 points per game, 1.5 rebounds per game, and 1.2 assists per game. The former Eagle has played in 290 international contests, for four different organizations (Dinamo of Super Liga, Gigantes de Jalisco of CIBACOPA, Laguneros de Torreon of LNBP, and Tskhum-Abkhazeti of Super Liga), as well as a previous G-League stint with the Santa Cruz Warriors (2017-18). The guard has played professional basketball on three different continents during his career.
The Detroit native still holds the EMU single-game record with 50 points scored at Central Michigan, Feb. 28, 2017. Lee is fourth in all-time scoring with 1,873 career points and became the 29th member of the 1,000 point club in 2014-15. Furthermore, the former Eagle was a two All-MAC honoree, third team in 2015, and honorable mention in 2016.
The NBA G League is the NBA's official minor league, preparing players, coaches, officials, trainers, and front-office staff for the NBA while acting as the league's research and development laboratory. Featuring 26 teams — all with one-to-one affiliations with NBA franchises — in the 2021-22 season, the league offers elite professional basketball at an affordable price in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. The Westchester Knicks are affiliated with the New York Knicks, and look to begin their season Wednesday, Jan. 5.
