EMU Set to Host Nine Teams at the Eagle Invitational

The tournament will closeout the Green and White's fall schedule

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University tennis program is ready to host nine teams in the Eagle Invitational Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3. The teams competing include Ball State, Cleveland State, DePaul, Findlay, Illinois State, Northwood, Oakland, Wayne State, and Western Michigan. 

The competition will take place in two locations. The main setup will be at the Chippewa Club and the second site will be Ypsilanti Community High School. Friday's action is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with the seeding being set by the players universal tennis rating (UTR). 

The Eagles are coming off the ITA Midwest Regional and the third annual Bethany Moore Invitational at Ball State, Sept. 24-26. In Urbana, Ill. at the ITA regional, both doubles pairings of redshirt senior Vasavi Ganesan (Chennai, India-Alagappa Matriculation School) and redshirt sophomore Isabelle Popma (Staphorst, Netherlands-Center for Sports and Education), and freshmen Sabina Brichackova (Cheb, Czech Republic-Gymnazium Jana Blahoslava) and Prerna Vichare (Mumbai, India-Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics) saw multiple wins. In Muncie, Ind., redshirt junior Julia Piatek (Melgiew, Poland-Liceum Lublin (Salem)) won the No. 5 flight.
