ROCHESTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Freshman Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota) notched her first collegiate round of par with a score of 72 on day one of the Golden Grizzly Invitational, Sept. 26. Dull is just one shot off the pace of 71 set by Detroit Mercy's Ariel Chang on the par 72, 5,966 yard Katke-Cousins Golf Course.
Sophomore Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit) carded a 74 to reside in a six-way tie for sixth-place.
Central Michigan sits atop the leaderboard with a 297 followed by UDM (299) and EMU (301). Host Oakland is fourth with a 304 with Dayton (305), Cleveland State (310), and Purdue Fort Wayne (323) rounding out the field.
The final round will begin Monday, Sept. 27, at 9 a.m.
How It Happened
Dull had five birdies on the day, tied for the most of any player in the field, but also carded five bogies as well. Overall, Eastern Michigan led all teams with a scoring average of 3.05 on the event's four par 3 holes.
Junior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) posted a 76 for 17th to go along with a 79 from freshman Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) in a tie for 26th. Freshman Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) rounded out the team scoring with an 84 in a tie for 38th.
Playing as an individual, freshman Sophia Wygonik (Westland, Mich.-Livonia Franklin) is just outside the top-10 with a day one tally of 75.
