YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern fans, we're just days away from the start of the 2021 football season and opening the doors of Rynearson Stadium to fans for the first time since 2019.
Although the football team was able to enjoy a six-game season in 2020, one major aspect was missing: YOU!
That's why this year, in addition to all of the fun and excitement around The Factory that fans have come to expect on the field and around the stadium under Head Coach Chris Creighton, the Eastern Michigan Department of Athletics is excited to announce an array of new festivities taking place this season for the first time. A complete lineup of game themes and events is available here.
EMU's season-opener, set for Sept. 3 against Saint Francis University, will be celebrated as CommUniversitE Night. Presented by EMU's proud corporate partner, DTE Energy, CommUniversitE Night is a family-centric event that will showcase and celebrate the people who make our university and community a special place to live, work, and learn!
Prior to kickoff, fans can enjoy a free petting zoo and carnival games, interact with EMU student-athletes and coaches, and pick up coupons from local business partners. The action continues when Eastern Football kicks off its 130th season of play at 7 p.m against the Red Flash.
Additionally, as a thank you to educators for their dedication to students of all ages, EMU Athletics is offering all local teachers and staff up to four complimentary tickets to the home opener. A fundraising opportunity also exists to benefit your local schools. To set up a ticket sales fundraising opportunity, please email Ricky Zum Mallen in Athletics Marketing.
A portion of all ticket proceeds from CommUniversitE Night will be donated to support area schools. The EMU Ticket Office has announced the sale of 2021 ticket packages and single-game ticket options. EMU's schedule features six home games.
