YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University Athletics Department announced game day themes for the 2021 football season.
The Sept. 3 contest against Saint Francis (Pa.) has been designated as CommUniversitE Night, while the Sept. 25 game versus Texas State will be Hall of Fame/Family Weekend. EMU will hold its annual homecoming celebration Oct. 9 when Miami comes to town before hosting Band Day/Fall Fest the following weekend against Ball State, Oct. 16.
Eastern Michigan will then have the bright lights of #MACtion descend on "The Factory" for midweek contests with Ohio, Nov. 9, and Western Michigan, Nov. 16.
With the falling positivity rate of COVID-19, increased vaccination numbers and recent announcements by the federal government and the State of Michigan that ease restrictions on large gatherings, the athletic department is planning to welcome fans back to Rynearson Stadium this fall.
Eastern Michigan University updated its policy regarding face masks and physical distancing both indoors and outdoors effective July 6. The new policy incorporates the latest guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the State of Michigan, and the U.S Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). Broadly speaking, the updated policy allows individuals to be: maskless indoors (with some exceptions) if they are vaccinated and self-report their vaccination information to the University; and maskless outdoors (regardless of the size of the gathering and regardless of vaccination status),
Based upon this latest order and what we now know, this guidance from the State of Michigan clears the path for events to return to full capacity beginning with the fall competition. Should federal, state, local, or campus public health guidelines change, EMU will update fans as soon as that information becomes available.
With the season fast approaching, the EMU Ticket Office has announced the sale of 2021 ticket packages.
Ultimate Fan season tickets include a wide chairback with armrests on the 50-yard line along with VIP season parking for just $125. Additional chairback season tickets are available in reserved sections 104-109 for only $99. Reserved season tickets are available for just $90.
Eastern Michigan faculty, staff, and young alumni (35-and-under) season tickets are only $70.
