Two Women's Golfers Selected to Academic All-MAC Team

A total of 42 student-athletes were named to this year’s squad

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team saw two of its student-athletes named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, the league office announced today, July 6.

Senior Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) collected the honor for the third time, while sophomore Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit)) picked up her first academic distinction from the conference.

Akron, Bowling Green and Ohio led the team, naming with six student-athletes apiece to the squad, with Ball State and Northern Illinois following closely behind with five honorees.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
