Women's Golf Readies for Akron Invitational

The six team tournament will take place April 16-17
AKRON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team will play in the Akron Invitational at Portage Country Club. The two-round competition starts Friday, April 16, and concludes Saturday, April 17.
The Portage Country Club course plays to a par-71 and a length of 6,265. There will be two 18-hole rounds with tee times off holes No. 1 and 10, starting at 9 a.m. Friday's tee times are set and Saturday's tee times will be based on first round finish.
Host Akron, as well as Indianapolis, Ohio, Toledo, Western Michigan, and Kent State (individuals only) will join the Green and White at the invitational
Kent State is the highest ranked in the field, coming into the contest at No. 17 in the country by the most recent GolfStat rankings. Eastern Michigan is currently No. 201.
Head Coach Stephanie Jennings will field sophomore Olivia Loberg (Bend. Ore.-Summit), freshman Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland), senior Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio), freshman Sophia Wygonik (Westland, Mich.-Livonia Franklin), and freshman Tatyana Nyambane (Nairobi, Kenya-Nord Anglia International School Dubai), making a slight change from the lineup that competed at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, April 10-11.
There will be no live scoring at the event, scores will be posted at the end of each day at EMUEagles.com.
