The Caledon, Ontario, Canada native collects the MAC weekly honor for the first time

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University senior Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for the first time, March 31, after a strong showing at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate.

Collins finished tied for seventh with an even-par 216 (69-74-73) for his first top-10 showing of the season and third in his career. The Caledon, Ontario native notched six birdies during the final round, including posting a two-under 34 on the back nine. Additionally, the three-day tally tied a season-low for Collins he previously set at the GCU Invitational, March 15-16.

As a team, EMU finished in seventh at the event with a 54-hole mark of 886 (291-298-297) on the par-72  Cotton Creek Golf Course at Craft Farms Golf Resort.

Eastern Michigan wastes no time getting back into action at the Hoosier Invitational, April 3-4.
