Senior Cougar Collins is tied for seventh after the second day of competition

GULF SHORES, Ala. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) posted a 74 and is tied for seventh after the second day of competition at the inaugural Craft Farms Intercollegiate, March 29. The senior shot +1 (37) on both the front and back nine, which included five birdies. Illinois State's David Perkins still holds the two-day lead with a 137 (67-70) on the 72, 7,127-yard Cotton Creek Golf Course at Craft Farms Golf Resort.
Eastern Michigan tallied a day two score of 298 with a 589 total (291-298) to sit in seventh place. The Eagles are three shots behind fifth-place Illinois State, 586 (292-294). Leading the 13-team pool is Cincinnati, who holds a 36-hole tally of 576 (291-285).
Senior Tyler Rayman (Otsego, Mich.-Otsego) posted a 75 for a 36-hole score of 146 for a tie for 17th, while Ty Celone (Long Sault, Ontario, Canada-St Joseph's Catholic) added a 77 (149 total) for a tie for 35th. Redshirt junior Zack Mason (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Blyth Academy Lawrence Park) shot a par for a two-day total of 152 (80-72) to move up to a tie for 47th. Rounding out the lineup was freshman Max Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland), who notched an 80 to reside in a tie for 68th.
Freshman MJ Smith (Rockford, Ill.-Winnebago) posted a 74 for a two-day tally 152 (78-74) as an individual participant.
Eastern Michigan returns to the course for a shotgun start Tuesday, March 30, at 8:30 a.m. CT.
