Eagles Look Ahead To Matchups With Rockets And Bulls

YPSILANTI, Mich. / BUFFALO, N.Y. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University tennis team will face two Mid-American Conference teams this weekend with matches against University of Toledo and the University at Buffalo Friday, March 26 and Sunday, March 28, respectively. The Rockets matchup will take place at the Chippewa Club at 1 p.m., then the Eagles will travel to Buffalo to face the Bulls at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Eastern (6-8; 0-4 MAC) fell short to Western Michigan, March 19, and Miami, March 21. Each match ended with a 1-6 score. It was redshirt junior Vasavi Ganesan (Tamil Nadu, India-Alagappa Matriculation School (Eastern Florida State)) who earned a win, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 3 and moved to 7-4 overall in the season. Ganesan also won the point against Miami after three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8, again at No. 3., which earned the India Native MAC Singles Player of the Week honors for a second time.

Toledo (6-5; 2-1 MAC) fell short against Bowling Green 3-4, March 21, but defeated NIU 6-1, March 19. Buffalo (3-2; 0-2 MAC) lost to NIU 1-6, after its loss to BGSU, 2-5.

Next week, the Eagles will focus on Butler, and later that day take on Indiana Tech, April 2. The match between EMU and the Bulldogs will begin at, 10 a.m. in Indianapolis, Ind., while the contest with the Warriors will begin at 5 p.m. in Fort Wayne, Ind.
