Men's Hoops Readies for Goshen Exhibition at Home

The Eagles will open the regular season at Indiana, Nov. 12
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University men's basketball is set to close out the preseason with an exhibition against Goshen College Friday, Nov. 5. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Convocation Center and admission is free.
Eastern enters the contest after a win at Oakland, 74-69, in a charity exhibition, Oct. 28. Freshman transfer Noah Farrakhan (Neward, N.J.-The Patrick School (East Carolina)) led EMU with 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 30 minutes. The Eagles had three players score in double-digits in addition to Farrakhan, senior Monty Scott (Union, N.J.-St. Benedict's Prep (Portland State)) added 16, and freshman Colin Golson Jr. (Detroit, Mich.-Ferndale (Siena)) chipped in 10. The Green and White shot 49.2 percent (29-of-59) from the field, in a game that saw 13 lead changes.
Goshen has already begun its 2021-22 season, and is 2-2 thus far. The Maple Leafs has wins over Andrews University (Mich.), 87-63, and Graceland University (Iowa), 84-79. GC's leading scorer, Elias Ramirez, is averaging 21 points per game on 51.7 percent shooting from three (15-of-29). The team has averaged 80.8 points per contest over its first four games.
The Green and White will officially kick off the 2021-22 season Tuesday, Nov. 9, when the Eagles travel to Big Ten Conference opponent Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. The game is slated to start at 6:30 p.m. inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
