The Eagles’ First Varsity Eight boat will compete at 1:11 p.m.
BOSTON, Mass. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University rowing team will conclude its fall racing schedule at the Head of the Grand Saturday, Oct. 23, in Boston, Mass. The Eagles' First Varsity Eight will race in the Women's Club Eights division at 1:11 p.m. on the Charles River.
Since its origin in 1965, the Head of the Charles Regatta has welcomed the world's best teams to the banks of the Charles River for the ultimate two-day rowing competition. The regatta sees over 11,000 athletes participate in the event each year, and is hosted by the Cambridge Boat Club.
This will be the fourth time in the last five years the Green and White have competed at the Head of the Charles. Due to COVID-19, EMU did not participate in the regatta last season. In 2019, the Eagles placed fifth with a time of 16:55.863. In the two previous appearances at the Head of the Charles in 2017 and 2018, the Green and White posted 17th place finishes at both races, with times of 17:50.347 and 17:47.527, respectively.
