YORKTOWN, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Senior Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford) and junior Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International) led the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team on the final day of the Cardinal Classic Tuesday, Sept. 17. Overall, Stevenson finished in a tie for seventh with a two-day mark of 224 (73-76-75), while Sripatrprasite followed in ninth with a 225 (77-78-70) on the par-72, 6,204 yard Players Club course.
For Stevenson, the finished marked the second top-10 showing of her career. Her 54-hole tally of 224 was also 12 strokes better than her previous low of 236 set at the Kzoo Classic, Oct. 2-3, 2017. Meanwhile, it was the fourth top-10 finish for Sripatrprasite in 20 career events.
Overall, Eastern Michigan finished in fifth-place with a 917 (306-306-305). Ball State held off a charge from IUPUI to win its home tournament for the first time since 2012. The Cardinals recorded a 899 (305-294-300) to finish two strokes ahead of the Jaguars.
Eastern Michigan jumps back into action this weekend at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich., Sept. 22-23.
