Eastern moves closer to its season opener at Coastal Carolina, Aug. 31

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — On the field for the first time since it participated in an inter-squad scrimmage on Aug. 17, the Eastern Michigan University football team resumed practice this morning, Aug. 19, inside the St. Joe's Sports Dome, its indoor practice facility.
On the field, the Eagles continued game preparations with various drills and team-based activities. The 128th squad to don the Green and White opens its season against Coastal Carolina University on Aug. 31, in Conway, S.C.
After another slate of post-practice activities, which include team meetings, a run-through, medical treatments, and weight-lifting, the team will return to its indoor facility for a second consecutive practice inside the hot and humid indoor facility tomorrow, Aug. 20.
With close monitoring from Head Football Athletic Trainer Steven Berning, and staff, Creighton is using the indoor facility's "greenhouse conditions," to prepare his team for the similar humidity that will likely be present during the team's first game. Tomorrow's practice will mark the first back-to-back session in the indoor facility for the team during its preseason camp.

After a three-week road swing to begin the season, the Eagles open their 2019 home schedule at "The Factory" inside Rynearson Stadium Saturday, Sept. 21, versus Central Connecticut State University. Season tickets are available for purchase at EMUEagles.com/tickets, by calling 734.487.3669 or by visiting the EMU Ticket Office daily between 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Media requesting to attend practice must give 24-hours' notice and to verify practice times and availability. During practice, all visitors and media are expected to remain off the playing field at all times and video/photos are only allowed with permission from the football operations or media relations staff in attendance at the practice.
