Paul Jackson Named Academic All-MAC

The redshirt senior is one of 17 players to be honored by the conference
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - The Mid-American Conference announced Friday, April 5, that Eastern Michigan University men's basketball redshirt senior Paul Jackson (Stone Mountain, Ga.-Martin Luther King Jr.(Eastern Kentucky)) was honored as a member of the 2019 Academic All-MAC team, as a student-athlete who excelled both on the court and in the classroom.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Jackson was one of the most dynamic guards in the conference in his final season at EMU, scoring 14.3 points per game, averaging 4.6 assists per contest, and also swiping 1.3 steals per game. The Stone Mountain, Ga. native was named Honorable Mention All-MAC for the second consecutive season in 2019. The redshirt senior is a marketing major at EMU, boasting a GPA of 3.37.
Western Michigan University and Ohio University led this year's squad with three student-athletes each. Ball State University, Central Michigan University and the University of Toledo also had multiple selections with two honorees on this year's team.
This marks the third consecutive season that WMU's Seth Dugan has been named to the squad. Ball State's Kyle Mallers, Kent State University's Mitch Peterson, and Western Michigan's Adida Ikongshul and Jared Printy join Jackson in making their appearance for the second consecutive year.
