Eagles' Distance Runners Compete at Hillsdale "GINA" Relays

All four of EMU's tracksters finished in the top-20 performances

HILLSDALE, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Distance runners from the Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team competed at the Hillsdale "GINA" Relays hosted by Hillsdale College Thursday, April 25. Freshmen Kaitlyn St. Bernard (Newport, Mich.-Jefferson) and Emily DeLine (Newport, Mich.-Airport), sophomore Madison Distelrath (Fort Wayne, Ind.-Homestead), and redshirt senior Allie Knoll (Warren, Mich.-Warren Mott) competed in the Relays' 5000m open event.
Pacing the Eagles' finishes Thursday was Knoll, marking the best outdoor 5000m run in her career, as the Warren, Mich. native finished in fourth place with a time of 17:30.09. Behind her was St. Bernard, who also recorded a career-best 10th-place effort of 17:34.87, topping her previous top run by 29 seconds. Distelrath and DeLine rounded out the top-20 performances, crossing the finish line in 17:47.35 and 18:04.52 for 13th and 20th overall, respectively.
EMU Women's Track and Field continues a busy weekend of competition Friday, April 26, competing at the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio. The Classic's first day of competition is set to begin at 2 p.m with the hammer throw.
