MAC Basketball Tournament Gets Underway Monday, March 11

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University men's and women's basketball teams begin their postseason journeys with the first round of the 2019 Mid-American Conference Tournament Monday, March 11. Men's and women's opening round tournament games will begin on campus sites for seeds No. 5- No. 12.
To secure tickets to round one of the MAC Tournament at the Convocation Center, visit EMUEagles.com/tickets or call 734.487.3669. Tickets are just $12 when purchased in advance of game day or $15 at the door. In addition, every ticket purchased will receive a buy one, get one free beverage. EMU students will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
On the men's side, the Eagles will go up against No. 11 Ball State with tip off slated for 7 p.m. from the Convocation Center. The Eagles swept the regular season series with a thrilling 84-82 victory in double overtime in Muncie and a 68-61 win at the Convocation Center, March 5.
With an electrifying come-from-behind victory at Ball State Saturday, March 9, the women's basketball team will be the ninth seed in the conference tournament. The Eagles outscored the Cardinals by 19 points in the second half to knock off BSU, 67-57.
EMU women's basketball will travel to No. 8 Akron for the first round of the tournament. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m. from James A. Rhodes Arena. Eastern won both regular season meetings, as the Eagles walked away from the Rubber City a 72-60 winner, Jan. 22, before completing the sweep, 67-60, in Ypsilanti, Feb. 20.
