MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team hits the road for a pair of Mid-American Conference matches, against Central Michigan, Thursday, Nov. 7, and Kent State, Saturday, Nov. 9. The action from Mount Pleasant is scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m., with first serve at Kent State set for 5 p.m.
Fans can follow both matches using live stats, which are available through EMUEagles.com. The team's Twitter, @EMUVolleyball, will also provide in-match updates throughout both contests. Both matches will also be televised live on ESPN+.

WHERE WE STAND: If the Eagles hope to have a chance to repeat as MAC Tournament champions, they will have to string together multiple wins in their final four regular season matches. Currently, 10 teams sit above the Eagles in the standings. Unfortunately, only the league's best eight make the postseason tournament. Fortunately for EMU, they are one of five teams that are separated by just one game or fewer in league standings.

ALL-TIME VS. CMU: Eastern will square-off with its in-state foe, the Central Michigan Chippewas, for the 89th time Thursday, Nov. 7.  A largely one-sided affair, CMU has emerged victorious in 61 of the all-time matchups.
Last month, the Chips bested the Eagles, 3-1, in Ypsilanti, Oct. 3.

ALL-TIME VS. KENT STATE: Saturdays matchup between the Eagles and Golden Flashes will be the 59th between the cross-divisional foes. EMU leads the all-time series, 37-20-1, and is on a three-match winning streak against the Flashes that dates back to Nov. 11, 2017, when EMU beat KSU, 3-1, in Kent, Ohio.
Last season, Eastern bested Kent State, 3-0, in the conference tournament.

BREAK OUT THE BROOMS: EMU picked up a critical MAC win over West Division rival Northern Illinois, Nov. 1, doing so in perfect fashion, 3-0. The Eagles rode Julia Fisher's 15-kill performance, highlighted by her .520 hitting percentage, to take out the Huskies in efficient fashion. The sweep is the fourth of the season for EMU, and its second in its last four mathches.

SPECIAL FOR THE SENIORS: Despite a loss to Western Michigan, Nov. 2, it was a special night for four individual Eagles. Seniors Camille Schomer, Riley Taylor, Ariel Hamby, and Cassie Haut, were honored with a pre-match ceremony to celebrate their Eagle careers and accomplishments, highlighted by a MAC Tournament Championship, in 2018.

HIGH TALLY TAYLOR: Senior setter Riley Taylor was special against Western Michigan, Nov. 2. Taylor wrangled in 55 assists, marking the fourth time she has accumulated 50-or-more assists in a match this season. The Indianapolis native also gathered 12 digs, notching her 11th double-double of the season.

ON THE HORIZON: Following its contests with CMU and KSU, Eastern will close out the regular season with one final road trip, where it will battle Ball State, Friday, Nov. 15, and Toledo, Saturday, Nov. 16.
