YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- After earning its first Mid-American Conference win of the 2019 campaign, the Eastern Michigan University volleyball team is set to welcome two more MAC-foes into the Convocation Center for a Friday/Saturday Homecoming-week doubleheader. The weekend kicks off with a match against Toledo, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m., and concludes with a bout versus Ball State, Oct. 12, at 8 p.m.
Fans can follow both matches using live stats, which are available through EMUEagles.com. The team's Twitter, @EMUVolleyball, will also provide in-match updates throughout both contests. Friday's match will be televised live on ESPN3.

HISTORY MADE: Thursday, Oct. 3, was a special day inside EMU's Convocation Center, as the official banner-raising ceremony for the 2018 MAC Tournament Champion EMU volleyball team took place. Last season, the Eagles finished with a 24-14 overall mark and made a magical run to the MAC Tournament crown, besting the No. 1, 2, 4, and 8 seeded-teams along the way.

ALL-TIME VS. UT: US-23 neighbors Eastern Michigan and Toledo will clash on the volleyball court for the 74th time when they meet Friday, Oct. 11. A dominant series in favor of the Eagles, EMU holds a 58-15 all-time record against the Rockets.
Last season, Eastern upended Toledo in both meetings between the two squads, winning, 3-0, in both installments of the rivalry.

ALL-TIME VS. BALL STATE: Set to meet for the 77th time in their respective histories, the Cardinals of Ball State hold a commanding 50-26 all-time record over the Eagles of Eastern Michigan.
Most recently, EMU topped BSU, 3-2, in thrilling five-set fashion, at the Convocation Center, Nov. 3, 2018.

FRANKI ON FIRE: Junior Franki Strefling was instrumental in helping lead Eastern Michigan to its first Mid-American Conference win of the season, against the Ohio University Bobcats, Saturday, Oct. 5. In four sets against Ohio, Strefling racked up one ace, five blocks, and 24 digs, all season-bests for the junior out of Niles, Mich. Strefling also added 13 kills in the match.
For the weekend, which included the match against Ohio, and a Thursday night, Oct. 3, feature against Central Michigan, Strefling tallied 30 kills, 38 digs, and seven blocks. Additionally, the third-year Eagle made just four reception errors in 69 total attempts. She averaged 4.75 digs per set, 3.75 kills per set, and 4.38 points per set for the two matches. Overall, Strefling ranks inside the MAC's top-10 in kills and points.

IN CHASE YOU MISSED IT: Redshirt freshman Raeven Chase was incredible for the Eagles in their two games against Central Michigan, Oct. 3, and Ohio, Oct. 5. After a four-kill, seven-block performance against CMU, Chase erupted against Ohio, racking up 15 kills in 17 attempts, making zero errors, and hitting at an incredible .882 clip. Chase made just one reception error during the two-game weekend stretch, averaged 2.62 kills per set, and compiled a .545 hitting percentage. The Toronto native also chipped in 3.38 points per set for Eastern Michigan.

TAYLOR RAISING HER BAR: Senior Riley Taylor was unbelievable for the Eagles in two games against Central Michigan, Oct. 3, and Ohio, Oct. 5. Against CMU, Taylor put together a season-best performance that included 47 assists, by far the most of any player in the match (from either squad).
Just two days later, against Ohio, Taylor was more impressive, as she tallied 50 additional assists. In total, the Indianapolis native racked up 97 assists over two weekend matches, good for a 12.125 assist per set average. Taylor ranks inside the MAC's top-10 in 2019, and leads all Eagles in the category.

ON THE HORIZON: Eastern Michigan will hit the road for a weekend of MAC play in the Buckeye State. The team will face Miami Friday, Oct. 18, before heading to the Stroh Center to matchup with Bowling Green Saturday, Oct. 19.
