Men's Golf Set to Compete at The Mountaineer Invitational

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team will continue its fall slate Monday, Oct. 7, with The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational hosted by West Virginia University at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, W. Va.

The Eagles will be competing for the second time in as many weeks after earning an 11th-place finish at the Firestone Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 1.     

The tournament field will feature 14 other schools including Akron, Davidson, Florida Atlantic, George Washington, James Madison, Marshall, Rice, Southern Miss, Towson, UConn, Washington State, No. 25 West Virginia, Xavier, and Youngstown State. The Eagles will be paired with George Washington and Youngstown State off holes 11-14/

The course will play 7,308 yards and par is 72. The teams are slated to play 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.
