Tennis Heads to East Lansing for ITA Midwest Regional

Action will begin Thursday, Oct. 17, and run through Sunday, Oct. 20
EAST LANSING, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team will close its 2019 fall campaign when it treks to nearby Michigan State University for the ITA Midwest Regional, Oct. 17-20, in East Lansing.
The Eagles are coming off a season-high 12 match wins, a number they collected as part of the Eastern Illinois Panther Invite, last weekend, Oct. 11-12, in Charleston, Ill.
Strong throughout the lineup, senior Marie Mayerova (Krmelin, Czech Republic) highlights the group from EMU. Last week, Mayerova finished third in the top draw of the Panther Invite. She is the No. 8 seeded player in this week's event, a field that includes 20 teams from the region.
Elsewhere, Eagles fans can expect to see veteran Natalia Regalado (Alicante, Spain-IES Figueras Pacheco) contending, as she is coming off a second place finish a week ago. Newcomer Vasavi Ganesan (Tamil Nadu, India-Alagappa Matriculation) also looks to ride the momentum of her first-career win, which came at last week's event, at this week's regional.
