Toledo Invitational, Last Opportunity of 2018 Campaign

5/1/2018 3:35:00 PM | Women's Track & Field

This will be the last weekend of competition before the MAC Championships, May 10-12

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team caps off its regular season schedule Thursday-Friday, May 3-4 when they take part in the Toledo Invitational in Toledo, Ohio.

In last season's invitational, EMU sent just three representatives south to Glass City, with senior Jenna Wyns  (Londerzeel, Belgium-Sportschool KA2) serving as the only current student-athlete to compete for the Green and White. Despite less-than-ideal weather conditions, Wyns still put up a season-best time in the 1500m run, closing out the 2017 regular season with a time of 4:46.41.

EMU heads into the invitational with an already-impressive hold on many of the top marks in the Mid-American Conference, as the Eagles have a grasp on the top times in the 100m, 200m, 1500m, 5000m, 3000m steeplechase, and the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Action in Ohio is slated to begin Thursday, with discus starting at 1 p.m. The following day begins at 10:30 a.m., opening up competition with javelin and the 5000m run. Fans can follow along via live stats by clicking here, or by following the link listed on the schedule page.
