The meet will have three schools competing that are ranked inside the top-25

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team travels to Knoxville, Tenn. this week, taking part in the Tennessee Relays Thursday-Saturday, April 12-14.

There, the Eagles will go up against a talented group of student-athletes, including members from four teams inside the nation's top-25. Joining Eastern is No. 7 Kentucky, No. 17 Tennessee (host), and No. 18 Virginia Tech. Additionally, there are four teams from the Great Lakes Region, as Ohio State, Indiana, Notre Dame, and Kent State will all be in attendance.

In last season's installment of the Tennessee Relays, EMU had 15 performances result in personal-bests, including all three of the Eagles who participated in the 100m dash. Of that crew, then-sophomore Jessica Harris (Slidell, La.-Slidell) led Eastern with a 12th-place finish, racing to a time of 11.91. Right behind Harris was then-freshman Brittni Mason (Richmond Heights, Ohio-West Geauga) and then-junior Allyson Goff (White Lake, Mich.-Walled Lake Northern), who placed 15th and 28th in 12.03 and 16.07, respectively. Harris and Mason will both return to Tom Black Track this week to once again take part in the 100m.

The Green and White's highest individual placement came in pole vault, where former student-athlete Natalie Uy vaulted to a height of 3.85m. Additionally, EMU's distance medley relay squad (DMR), which consists of two current student-athletes in senior Natalie Cizmas (Clinton Twp., Mich.-Chippewa Valley) and junior Sydney Meyers (Zionsville, Ind.-Zionsville Community), also placed fifth with a time of 11:51.87.

Meyers and Cizmas both return this year as members of the DMR squad, and will be joined by redshirt senior Alsu Bogdanova (Kazan, Russia-Lyceum #83) and freshman Madison Distelrath (Fort Wayne, Ind.-Homestead).

This weekend's action begins Thursday starting at 10 a.m. with multi events. Friday's slate also starts off with multis at 10 a.m., before turning over to running events at 2:45 p.m. and field events at 3 p.m. The meet will conclude Saturday, with field events commencing at 10 a.m. and running events beginning at noon.
