At the dish, senior Haley Hostetler (New Haven, Ind.-Woodlan) had an outstanding 4-for-6 day over the two games, to string together a five-game hitting streak. Meanwhile, fellow senior Angel Schilke (Saline, Mich.-Saline) also had a solid showing where she notched two hits in three at-bats.
Game 1: Eastern Michigan 1, Albany 9
The Eagles could not keep pace with the Great Danes (2-3) as they were outhit, 13-2, through six innings of work. Hostetler and Schilke each registered a hit, while Schilke scored the Green and White's lone run in the fifth.
On the rubber, senior Trisha Trujillo (Whittier, Calif.-California) (1-3) gave up nine hits through a combine 3.2 innings. Freshman Kiara Hurley (Maumee, Ohio-Maumee) made a two inning appearance in the circle, giving up four runs, including a two-run homer, before Trujillo took back over in the final inning.
Game 2: Eastern Michigan 2, Marist 6
Eastern's batting improved in the second game as it was able to muster a total of 10 hits. Hostetler paced the Green and White with three hits while junior Amanda Akles (La Habra, Calif.-La Habra) added two of her own to go along with a RBI. The Eagles struggled to get their runners across home plate, as they stranded eight.
The Red Foxes jumped ahead to a 1-0 lead in third, before adding a pair of runs in both the fourth and fifth frame.
The Eagles used the bottom of the fifth to cut into Marist's lead by two. Schilke stepped up to the plate and dished out a single to short stop, while Hostetler followed suit with one to left field. Three plays later, Schilke took advantage of a passed ball to score Eastern's first run of the game. With Hostetler on third, Akles turned in an RBI-single to plate Hostetler. A grounder to third to plays later would stop the Green and White's advances.

Pitching her third complete game this season, junior Nicolle Miranda (Wilmington, Calif.-Port of Los Angeles) was ultimately sacked with the loss, dropping her to 1-4 on the season. Through seven innings, Miranda gave up six runs, three of which were earned, on nine hits including a two-run homer.
