The Eagles are 25-8 versus the conference all-time, and have posted wins over six different institutions. EMU has met Wayne State most often and holds a 9-4 record against the Warriors. The Green and White has also met Saginaw Valley State, Ferris State, Grand Valley State, Northern Michigan, and Hillsdale previously.
NON-CONFERENCE FORTUNE: Eastern Michigan recorded its sixth win of the season at Longwood, Dec. 15. EMU's six victories are its most non-conference wins under Fred Castro, besting the 2016-17 team's total of five. Additionally, EMU has secured its first winning record in non-conference play since 2015-16 when Eastern went 9-2.
SO MUCH FOR CHARITY: Free throws have been anything but free for the Eagles this season. The Green and White connect on just 59.4 percent of its shots from the charity stripe and boast the worst FT percentage in the league. In three of its four losses, missed free throws have been the difference, as EMU's margin of defeat could have been made up at the charity stripe (,L at Illinois, 66-72 - 11-of-20 - (-9); L, vs. UNCG, 44-49 - 12-of-18 (-6); L, vs. Butler, 63-73 - 16-of-29 (-13)).
UNDER 50: In Eastern Michigan's game against UNC Greensboro, Dec. 20, EMU held its opponent to 50-or- fewer points for the 112th time in program history. The Eagles are 111-1 all-time when holding the opposition below the 50-point mark.
FACING IN-STATE FOES: The Timberwolves are one of four opponents on the Eagles' 2018-19 schedule that call Michigan home. Eastern Michigan has thrived against in-state competition over the years, compiling a 157-146 advantage over in-state opponents. The Eagles have been most successful against Western Michigan, piecing together a 48-36 mark versus the Broncos. Meanwhile, Michigan State has been the toughest opponent for EMU, leading the all-time series 15-1 over the Eagles.
LAST GLIAC GAME: Eastern Michigan's last meeting against a GLIAC opponent came during the 2016-17 season. EMU knocked off Ferris State, 68-50, inside the Convocation Center, Nov. 16, 2016. Sasha Dailey had a game-high 28 points and nine rebounds, finishing just shy of a double-double. Ashley Nickens added a career-best 12, while junior Micah Robinson was the other EMU player in double figures with 10.
HELPING HAND: Freshman Jenna Annecchiarico has embraced the role of floor general to the tune of 4.5 assists per game, the sixth-best mark in the MAC. Moreover, the Baldwin, N.Y. native has turned the ball over just 11 times, making her one of the top point guards in the conference. Annecchiarico leads the conference, while ranking third nationally, with a 4.09 assist to turnover ratio. She is the only freshman to boast an assist- to-turnover ratio at 2.5-or-better, and is the only freshman in the top-35 of the NCAA.
GETTING AFTER IT ON DEFENSE: Eastern Michigan's high intensity defense has caused opponents fits this season as the Eagles have forced the opposition into 20+ turnovers six times, while picking their pockets 10+ times in five of their 10 games. EMU's 9.4 steals per game are the third-most in the MAC, as well as the 93rd- best nationally.
