— The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team concluded its 2018 regular season slate as it hosted the annual EMU Fall Classic Friday, Oct. 19 in Dexter, Mich.

Freshmen Olivia Chandler (Brighton, Mich.-Brighton) and Lexi Seifert (Waterford, Pa.-Villa Maria Academy) led Eastern with personal-best 5k times of 19:08.0 and 19:08.3, which warranted 38th and 39th-place finishes, respectively. Freshman Emily DeLine (Newport, Mich.-Airport) was the third Eagle to cross the finish line, clocking in at 19:20.2 to place 43rd, while sophomore Kayla Mayer (Hilliard, Ohio-Hilliard Darby) and junior Jocelyn Sharpe (Westerville, Ohio-Westerville North) rounded out the EMU harriers with times of 20:11.7 and 21:01.9, crossing 52nd and 61st, respectively.

With the regular season over, Eastern now focuses on the postseason and bringing home its fourth consecutive Mid-American Conference Championship. The conference title race is scheduled to take place Saturday, Oct. 27 in Toledo, Ohio.
