YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University wrestling team soldiers on through its road dual slate with a Saturday matinee match-up with No. 4 University of Missouri, Jan. 13. First whistle against the Tigers from the Hearnes Center is set for 1 p.m. ET

TANGLING WITH THE TIGERS: EMU and Mizzou have met six times in their respective histories, with MU winning all six bouts. The closest Eastern has come to defeating Missouri was in 2014, when the Green and White dropped a tough 18-15 decision.
LAST SEASON VS MIZZOU: The Eagles put forth a great fight, but were defeated by the No. 9 ranked Tigers, 22-12. EMU won four bouts on the day, including a win over a ranked opponent by Noah Gonser.

EAGLES IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS: Heavyweight Gage Hutchison is currently the lone Eagle ranked by national outlets, coming in as high as 17th. A full list of rankings can be found on page 10 of the notes package.
MOVING UP THE RECORD BOOK: In his five-year EMU career, Gage Hutchison has racked up 87 career victories, which ranks tied for seventh all-time. EMU Hall of Fame inductee Steve Brown holds the all-time record with 117 wins.
CARSON NAMED MAC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: Redshirt sophomore 165 pounder Zac Carson was named the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week Wednesday, Jan. 10. It is the second wrestler of the week honor for the Eagles this season, and the first of Carson's career. Carson had a big weekend, going 2-0 in two MAC duals. He started with a hard-earned 9-6 decision against Ohio, Jan. 5, and followed that up with a pin against Old Dominion, Jan. 7, in 3:26. It was his third pin of the season, and second in dual action.
TOTAL DOMINATION: So far this season, redshirt senior Kyle Springer has been a bonus point machine for the Eagles. In his 13 wins, 11 of them have come with bonus points, including a team-high seven major decisions, two technical falls, and three pins.
HEAVIER WEIGHT, NO PROBLEM: Redshirt junior Kayne MacCallum, EMU's 184 lbs. starter, has twice wrestled up at 197 lbs. in duals this season. He has shown no struggles at the heavier weight class, going 2-0, including a pin vs. Cleveland State, Dec. 8, as well as a 6-1 decision vs Ohio, Jan. 5.
UP NEXT ON THE MATS: EMU has its home opener, Friday, Jan. 19, when they host Northern Illinois University inside the Convocation Center. Action against the Huskies is set to begin at 7 p.m.
