The senior outfielder lands on an All-MAC team for the third time in her career

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Just hours after being named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, senior outfielder Michelle Kriegshauser (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln Way Central) landed on the All-MAC Second Team, the league announced Tuesday, May 9, following a sensational senior season.

Kriegshauser is just the fourth player in program history to earn All-MAC honors in three-or-more seasons, as the New Lenox, Ill. native was also a second team selection in 2015 and a first team honoree last year. She joins EMU greats Marci Kelly, Ashley Strauss, and Jenny Scherer, all of whom accomplished the feat. Kriegshauser was also named to the All-Freshman Team back in 2014.

Leading the Eagles in batting average for the fourth consecutive season, Kriegshauser hit a staggering .375 at the plate this season, the sixth-best single season average in program history. She registered 60 hits, 26 of which were of the extra base variety. Her 17 doubles tied the EMU record for most in a single season, while her nine home runs rank tied for 10th in single season laurels. Crossing the plate a career-high 37 times, Kriegshauser paced the Green and White in the category, while recording the sixth-most runs in a season all-time.

Within the MAC, Kriegshauser's batting average was the sixth-best in the league this season, while her slugging percentage (.650) was fourth-best. She boasted the fourth-highest on-base percentage in the conference with the fifth-most hits, while her 17 doubles were the most of any player in the MAC.

Posting a team-best 19 multi-hit games this season, Kriegshauser has totaled 67 multi-hit efforts for her career. She has added five multi-RBI games this season to go along with a trio of three-hit games and two four-hit showings. She tied the program record with a seven-RBI performance against Georgetown, Feb. 24, at the EMU Madeira Beach Invitational, and has homered twice in a game two times this season.

Kreigshauser has not only etched her name into the single season records in her final season in Ypsilanti, but she has also rewritten the EMU career records and climbed the MAC charts. She is the only Eagle to ever register 200+ hits, 100+ runs, and 100+ RBI's in their career, while the senior outfielder also holds the program records in career batting average (.361), doubles (57), and slugging percentage (.624). In addition to holding the program standard in each of the three categories, she is ranked tied for second in league laurels in doubles, fifth in slugging percentage, and 18th in batting average. Kriegshauser also ranks inside EMU's top-10 in home runs (2nd-29), hits (t2nd-211), runs (5th-110), and RBI's (6th-105).
