The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team continues its busy outdoor season later this week, heading to the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays, April 13-15, as well as the Don Kleinow Invitational, April 13, and the Grizzly Invitational, April 15. Eastern will have a handful of distance runners head to California, while other members of the team will remain close to home in Adrian, Mich. and Rochester, Mich.

Additionally, live results will be available for the Grizzly Invitational. Links can be found on the men's track and field schedule page of EMUEagles.com.

Last week, the Eagles traveled to Knoxville, Tenn. for the tough Tennessee Relays. The Green and White had a number of strong performances throughout the three-day meet. Junior Leighton Antonio (Hudson, Ohio - Hudson) turned in a pair of top-10 finishes, taking eighth in the 100m dash with a time of 10.68 seconds, in addition to nabbing seventh in the 200m dash after clocking in at 21.47 seconds. In the 400m dash, sophomore Tyler Underwood (Clinton, Mich. - Clinton) was able to snag fourth, crossing the finish line in a career-best 47.93 seconds.

Eastern also finished in the top-five of the 5000m run, as redshirt junior Mitch Lenneman (River Falls, Wis. - River Falls) secured fourth in 14:26.19. In fact, his time was the third-quickest in the nation for the past week of competition. Redshirt senior Bryce Lindsey (New Middletown, Ohio - Fairfield Senior) also claimed fifth in the 110m hurdles, while freshman Colin Etchen (Edgerton, Ohio - Edgerton) nabbed fifth in the pole vault. Sophomore Cameron Hart (Columbus, Ohio - Bishop Hartley) secured a pair of top-six finishes, as he took second in the high jump with a career-best outdoor mark of 2.07 meters/ 6 feet 9.5-inches and sixth in the long jump.

In the hammer throw, redshirt senior Anthony Jones (Sandusky, Ohio - Sandusky) finished ninth, posting a mark of 56.38 meters/ 185 feet. The highlight, however, came in the javelin throw, where sophomore Derek Ziegenfuss (Allentown, Pa. - Parkland) had an outstanding performance. Ziegenfuss finished second, notching a throw of 67.76 meters/ 222 feet 4-inches, which was both a career-best and a program record.
