YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — With spring practice in full swing at Eastern Michigan University, the seniors from the 2016 class worked out for professional scouts at the EMU Indoor Practice Facility, March 21.
A total of 20 scouts from the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL) visited for the event, allowing the former EMU players to showcase their talents in drills and exercises that mirror the NFL Scouting Combine.
The prospects were timed in the 40-yard dash, 20 and 60-yard shuttles, and three cone drill before going through position work. Other measurable drills held earlier in the day included the bench press, broad jump and vertical jump. The prospects also went through a flexibility test and had their height, weight, hand width, arm length, and wing span measured by personnel from NFL teams.
Participating in the pro day drills for EMU were Sam Browning (Escondido, Calif.-Escondido (Palomar C.C.)), Mike Brown (Sandusky, Ohio-Sandusky), DaQuan Pace (Detroit, Mich.-Cass Tech), Chris O'Risky (Poseyville, Ind.-North Posey), Cole Gardner (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia), Pat O'Connor (Chicago, Ill.-St. Rita), Austin Sanders (Ypsilanti, Mich.-Ypsilanti (Michigan State)), and Andrew Wylie (Midland, Mich.-Midland).
The Eagles will be showcased nationally a total of five times in October and November to close the regular season. The five straight midweek contests to close the schedule are a program first since the MAC began playing nationally-televised non-Saturday November games in 1999. Last season, Eastern Michigan was a part of the phenomenon termed "MACtion" for its final three regular season games, including a historic 21-point come-from-behind victory over Ball State on Election Night to become bowl eligible for the first time in 29 years.
Season tickets for the 2017 football season are now on sale to see the Eagles. EMU will look to build upon its resurgence last year that saw the program finish tied for the most improved program in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
Eastern Michigan continues to offer the Ultimate Fan Season Ticket Plan for just $105 ($21 per game). The premiere plan includes a padded chairback seat at midfield along with free parking. Fans can also order reserved non-chairback season tickets for just $70 ($14 per game), EMU faculty and staff can secure non-chairback season tickets for $50 ($10 per game), and Young Alumni (35 and under) can purchase season tickets for only $40 ($8 per game).
Single-game tickets will go on sale Aug. 7. Fans can purchase adult tickets for $15 in advance or $25 on the day of the game, while youth 12-and-under are just $8. Purchasing tickets in advance of gameday not only saves time waiting in lines at the door, but is also a savings of 40 percent!
Tickets are now on sale online at EMUEagles.com/tickets, by calling 734.487.2282 or by visiting the EMU Ticket Office daily between 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
