Football Lands a School-Record 30 Student-Athletes on Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University football team had 30 student-athletes represented on the 2025 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Football Team, the conference office announced Wednesday, Jan. 7. The 30 Eagles honored were the second-most of any team in the league, and surpassed the program's previous record of 27 set in the 2021 season.

Eight of the Eastern student-athletes have earned the accolade multiple times, including Tomasek (4), Evans (3), Devereaux (2), Dietzel (2), Gallegos (2), Mowchan (2), Strey Jr. (2), and Wheeler (2).
Bowling Green topped the list with 33 honorees, followed by Eastern Michigan (30) and Toledo (23). A total of 233 student-athletes from around the conference earned the distinction.
The Academic All-MAC distinction honors student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding dedication to both their academic and athletic pursuits. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 and participate in at least 50% of their team's competitions during the season.
