It will be the ninth time that Eastern Michigan has met up with the Cardinals
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — With its first home weekend of the 2017 dual season in the rearview mirror, the Eastern Michigan University tennis team hits the road again this Friday, Feb. 3, when it travels to Louisville, Ky. to square off with the University of Louisville Cardinals. The match is slated for 3 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
Eastern Michigan (1-4) and Louisville (4-0) have a short, eight match history between the squads. In those eight matches, EMU has struggled, posting a record of 1-7. The Eagles and Cardinals last met on Feb. 8, 2013, when U of L got the best of the Green and White, 6-1. In that match, which was played at the Chippewa Racquet Club, the Green and White saw former Mid-American Conference Player of the Year Klara Supejova pick up an upset of the 62nd-ranked player in the country, 6-4, 1-6, 11-9 at No. 2 singles. That was, however, EMU's only win in the match. Eastern's only win came during the 2001-02 campaign when it took down Louisville, 7-0.
