LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team wrapped up the 40th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational today, Oct. 23, on Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club's par-72, 6,288-yard Cypress Lakes Course. The team finished the event with their two best rounds of the fall to tie Morehead State University for 13th-place with a 927 (322-301-304).
Sophomore Katelin Lawson (LaSalle, Ontario-Ridge Community-Tampa) had a career-best tournament, shooting 72 and a 75 on the final day for her first rounds in the 70s. The 227 (80-72-75) marked the lowest 54-hole tally of her career, as she placed 31st out of 78 competitors. Behind Lawson, freshman Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International) had a solid second day, matching with rounds of 73 and 75 to finish tied for 44th overall with a total score of 231 (83-73-75).
Senior Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) closed the tournament with a 234 (80-75-79) in 55th while junior Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) was 70th with a 241 (82-84-75). Finally, sophomore Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford) notched a final round 84 to finish in a tie for 72nd at 245 (80-81-84).
This marks the conclusion of the team's fall season. The Eagles will resume action in February, taking part in Mid-American Conference match play, Feb. 5, in Florida.
