KENT, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Closing out the weekend at the Golden Flashes Classic, the Eastern Michigan Unversity volleyball team was swept by Wright State University, 3-0, as offensive inconsistency plagued the Green and White.
As a team, the EMU attack continued its struggle, hitting just .072 as a squad. Meanwhile the Raiders (1-5) hit at a .309 clip, including a .542 mark in the third set. WSU also held the edge in digs, 47-41, while the teams were tied with three service aces each.
Freshman Alysa Sutton (Gaston, Ind.-West-Del) continued her impressive weekend, recording her second career double-double in as many matches. The Gaston, Ind. product paced the Eagles with 11 kills and 13 digs, both of which were team-highs, while also posting a team-best attacking percentage of .320 for the match. Just missing out on a double-double, redshirt sophomore Mallory Rajewski (Midland, Mich.-Midland) posted 21 assists and nine digs.
EMU travels to Fort Wayne, Ind., Tuesday, Sept. 6, for its next match. There, the Green and White will square off with the Mastodons of Fort Wayne is a 6 p.m. match.
