TOLEDO, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) –
The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team concluded their regular season today, May 6, with the Toledo Invitational. The Eagles finished with 11 top-three finishes on the day.

The Eagles only had one sprinter take part in the 100m dash, but sophomore Jasmine Jones (Greensburg, Pa. – Hempfield Area) made the most of it. Jones crossed the finish line in 12.01, finishing second in the race. In the 200m, junior Khadesha James (Irvington, N.J. – Irvington) led the way, bringing home gold for the Green and White after clocking in at a personal-best 25.13. Rounding out the sprints, sophomore Rebekah Branham (Circleville, Ohio – Circleville) also brought home another medal for EMU. The 800m saw freshman Sydney Meyers (Zionsville, Ind. – Zionsville Community) lead the charge, posting a third-place finish after crossing the finish line in a personal-best 2:13.16. Like the 100m dash, the 100m hurdles only featured one EMU competitor. Freshman Ayanna O'Neal (Cincinnati, Ohio – Withrow) brought home bronze, posting a mark of 14.31.

The Green and White now turn their focus to the upcoming Mid-American Conference Championships, May 12-14. The Eagles will look to finish off their trio of MAC titles, as the squad won both the 2015 Cross Country Championship, as well as the Indoor Championship.
