EMU will head to Western Michigan and Bowling Green this weekend
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team continues Mid-American Conference play this weekend when it travels to Western Michigan University, April 8, and Bowling Green State University, April 10.
The Eagles have won just one match in their last 11 with WMU, while the Broncos hold a 37-9 edge over the Green and White all-time. A year ago, EMU dropped a 6-1 decision to the Broncos. Anna Veleva (Sofia, Bulgaria) was the only Eagle to come away with a victory in singles play, taking a 7-5, 7-6 decision over Caroline Aleck in the No. 5 singles spot. The afternoon contest is set for 1 p.m. at Sorenson Courts unless inclement weather moves the match to the West Hills Athletic Club in Kalamazoo, Mich.
In the overall series between Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan, the Eagles hold a commanding 31-12 advantage, having won seven of their last 11 contests with the Falcons. Last season, EMU defeated BGSU, 6-1, taking the doubles point and 5-of-6 singles matches in the win. The 1 p.m. contest is slated to take place at Keefe Courts in Bowling Green, Ohio.
