Weather concerns forced Michigan State to cancel this weekend's meet

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's and women's track and field teams will not be attending the Spartan Invitational this weekend, April 8-9, as Michigan State announced today, April 6, that the event has been cancelled.

Due to inclement weather concerns, the MSU track and field program decided against hosting the meet. According to Accuweather.com, the forecast for both days is not promising, as Friday features a high of 40 degrees, in addition to the possibility for rain and snow showers. Saturday is projected to be even colder, as the real-feel high temperature will be an estimated 22 degrees.

The Eagles continue their seasons next weekend, as both the men's and the women's squads will be traveling to California for the Mt. SAC Relays, April 14-16. For more information on the meet, please click here.
