FORTH WORTH, Texas (EMUEagles.com) –
The Eastern Michigan University women's gymnastics team wrapped up its fantastic 2016 campaign Friday, April 15, at the NCAA Championships. The Eagles were represented by sophomore Rachel Slocum (Holly Springs, N.C. – Holly Springs), who was an individual competitor on floor.

Like she was all season long, Slocum was rock solid throughout her entire routine. Competing against the top gymnasts in the country, the sophomore scored a 9.8, placing her in a tie for 47th with both sessions combined. Being the only Mid-American Conference gymnast in attendance, Slocum did a fantastic job not only representing the Eagles, but also the conference.

This marks the end of the season for the Eagles, who had a banner year. The Green and White managed to win their second ever MAC title, along with qualifying to the NCAA Regionals for the first time in program history. Eastern will now set their sights towards next season, where they return a number of talented student-athletes capable of following 2016 with a great 2017.
