The Eagles will compete in three meets while on the west coast
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team continues their 2016 outdoor campaign this week, April 13-16, with three meets out in California. After having their previous meet cancelled due to weather concerns, the Eagles will compete at the Beach Pacific Coast Invitational, April 14, the Beach Invitational, April 15-16, and finally the Mt. SAC Relays, April 13-16.
The last time that the Green and White sent a contingent to the Mt. SAC Relays, junior Tyler Brown (Findlay, Ohio – Findlay) was just a freshman, but he turned in an incredible race in the 400m. Brown clocked in with a blazing time of 46.02, which was the fastest mark in the Mid-American Conference at the time, as well as the 11th-quickest in the nation and the fourth best in the EMU record books. Most impressively, however, it made him the world leader in the junior (U20) division, edging out Nathon Allen of Jamaica by .09 seconds.
The Beach Pacific Coast Invitational begins Thursday at 9 a.m. with the men's hammer throw, and ends at 6:05 p.m. with the men's 4x400m relay. Next up, the Beach Invitational will begin Friday, April 15, at 8:30 a.m. with the women's 10000m. This meet ends Saturday, April 16, at 6:40 p.m. with the men's 4x400m relay.
