ROCHESTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Coming off its eighth consecutive Mid-American Conference dual victory, the Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team heads to Rochester, Mich. for a non-conference dual against Oakland University, Nov. 12.
Eastern owns a 6-4-1 record against the Golden Grizzlies since the 2005-06 season. The series has been in favor the Green and White as of late, as EMU has posted a 3-0-1 mark against OU. Oakland's last win over the Eagles came Nov. 12, 2011, when the Eagles dropped the dual, 160-140. Mary Grace Van Allen (Indianapolis, Ind.-North Central) racked up three first place finishes, while Alexis Mitcheltree (Moon Twp., Pa.-Moon Area) and Carly Jackson (La Porte, Ind.-La Porte) added two each.
The Eagles enter the weekend after knocking off Toledo, 138-110, Nov. 5. Reigning MAC Co-Swimmer of the Week Sierra Wagner (Huntsville, Texas-Huntsville) and senior Genna Worthley (Portland, Maine-Deering) led the Green and White in the win. Wagner picked up conference honors after posting wins in the 50 and 100 freestyle and helping EMU to a pair of relay wins. Meanwhile, Worthley swept the breaststroke for the first time this season.
